Royal spirit and support are evident in all aspects of HSE, and one-way Royal students and families can continue this support is by attending HSE Performing Arts concerts, competitions, and performances. This October, there are four performances worth catching!
October 8th, 2025, Fall Band Concert
On Wednesday, October 8th, the HSE band will be showcasing their fall concert in the Leonard Auditorium at 7pm. This display will gather friends and family to share the progress that the students have made so far in the first 9 weeks of the 2025-2026 school year.
The students are very excited to showcase all their hard work from this past quarter. One of these students is Sophomore Avery Folzenlogel, who is a part of the HSE Symphonic Band.
“I’m super excited for this fall concert, we’ve all been practicing for a while now so it’s rewarding that we get to perform for our friends and family,” Avery commented.
Additionally, Folzenlogel commented that her peers have been practicing on average 2 to 3 days per week outside of school to prepare for this fall concert. If you are interested in seeing these hardworking students showcase their talents this fall, tickets are available now on PurplePass.
October 9th, 2025, Orchestra Fall Concert

“I spend my free time practicing my instrument, the violin, so I’m really looking forward to this fall concert and performing with my friends,” Sophia Milender said. “Being able to see the support from family, friends, and directors truly helps motivate us all to produce our best work.”
Tickets for this Fall Concert are also available now through PurplePass.
Fall break follows these concerts, starting on October 13th, but the performances swiftly return after the break, returning the weekend of October 18th.
October 18th, ISSMA 2025 Marching Band Regionals
On Saturday 18th, the ISSMA Marching Band Regionals will take place in LOCATION. This competition, which is hosted by the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA), is a preliminary competition in which high school marching bands will compete head-to-head against other schools of the same size in order to advance to higher levels of competition, eventually leading to the ISSMA State Marching Band Finals.
Students are very excited for this opportunity to compete at a higher level. After bands qualify at the regional level, they are then able to qualify for Semi-State, and then the State Competition, which is held at Lucas Oil Stadium, downtown Indianapolis. Senior bass drum player, Kamau Elston, described the eagerness and the amount of work Royal Command puts into preparation for ISSMA Regionals.
“The competition is a great environment and it’s fun to get the chance to watch all the other bands and perform at such a high level,” Kamau Elston said. “Sometimes things can get a little hectic with how big of a day it is, but overall, it’s a really good experience to perform and hang out with friends.”
Tickets for the Regional Competition, as well as Semi-State, are available on specific sites, depending on where the competition is taking place. Tickets for the State Competition, which is held at Lucas Oil Stadium, are available on TicketMaster.

Students have been practicing and perfecting their performance for months, starting in the summer, as well as even waking up and practicing at 4am. Ellia Becker, a sophomore, described the amount of dedication put into Royal Command.
